60' Structure (for Channa Horwitz)

about

"60' Structure (for Channa Horwitz) is imagined as a multichannel installation. It's a tapestry, or structure, of 120 slowly moving sine waves and their percussive counterparts. I wanted to make a piece which reflected the state of flux and change that we are going through, with the space constantly changing between the two points of 0' and 60' and the phase cancellation across the lines always creating new relationships and rhythms. I also wanted this work to give a space for meditation to the listener, the intervals were chosen with that in mind. It is dedicated to Channa Horwitz, whose intricate visual depictions of time and rhythm were an inspiration." (Cam Deas, July 2020)
